NTT Docomo SMTB Net Bank to Rebrand as 'Docomo no Ginko' Offering Up to 4.5% d-Point Rewards
Rebranding Consumer Banking to ‘Docomo no Ginko’
SBI Sumishin Net Bank, Ltd., a consolidated subsidiary of NTT Docomo Financial Group (Docomo FG), will change its corporate name to “Docomo SMTB Net Bank, Ltd.” on August 3, 2026. Simultaneously, its consumer banking service brand will be refreshed to “Docomo no Ginko” (Docomo’s Bank). Smartphone application names and icons will be updated sequentially to reflect the new brand.
Docomo FG aims to strengthen synergy across group companies, creating financial experiences that seamlessly integrate everyday shopping and banking services.
New Rewards Program with Up to 4.5% d-Point Returns
Starting August 20, 2026, the bank will roll out a d-Account linkage feature. Customers meeting specific criteria can enjoy significantly higher d-point reward rates on in-store smartphone payments.
The core benefits of the new rewards program include:
- Docomo no Ginko Direct Debit Reward By setting “Docomo no Ginko” as the withdrawal account for “d-card” and using eligible smartphone payment methods (such as touch payments or d-barai), customers receive a rate boost. For the first 12 months, the rate increases by up to 2.0%, offering a maximum total return of 3.0% in the first year (capped at 3,000 points/month). From the 13th month onwards, the reward rate will vary based on the monthly spending amount.
- Monex Securities Reward An additional maximum return of 1.5% will be awarded (capped at 500 points/month) by configuring the auto-sweep feature between Monex Securities and “Docomo no Ginko,” combined with monthly investments of 30,000 yen or more via “d-card Mutual Fund Investment” or “d-barai Balance Investment.”
By combining these benefits with the standard 1.0% base rate, users can achieve up to a 4.5% d-point return on eligible everyday purchases during the first year.
Account Annual Fee Waivers and Enhanced Support Channels
Additionally, the bank will introduce the “d-card Annual Fee Reward Benefit,” which grants d-points equivalent to half or the full amount of the “d-card” annual fee based on the customer’s balance at “Docomo no Ginko.” Points will also be awarded for utilizing standard banking services such as payroll direct deposits and automatic utility bill payments, replacing the previous Sumapro Point system with d-points.
To better assist users, Docomo FG and selected agencies operating Docomo Shops are currently applying for the necessary financial licenses under regulatory guidance to enable financial service consultations and support directly at physical store locations.
