Suntory Spirits announced that it will roll out a limited nationwide release of its single malt whisky, “Yamazaki Refill Spanish Oak,” on November 24, 2026, with a recommended retail price of 27,000 yen (excluding tax).

Crafted Exclusively with Refill Spanish Oak Cask Whiskies

The upcoming release is crafted exclusively from malt whiskies matured in refill Spanish oak casks—casks previously used at least once to age whisky. This cask management imparts a vibrant yet gentle wood aroma, accompanied by a light, lingering fruity finish.

First introduced in 1984, the Yamazaki brand blends malt whiskies matured under varying seasonal conditions using Yamazaki’s local spring water. By centering the profile on refill Spanish oak maturation, Suntory aims to highlight a distinct expression of the single malt to expand its enthusiast base domestically and globally.

The bottle label retains the iconic “Yamazaki” calligraphy alongside handwritten tasting notes inscribed directly by the craftsmen to convey the specific maturation profile.
